The Coffee Collective
Copenhagen pioneer of Nordic light roasting and radical sourcing transparency.
The Coffee Collective was founded in Copenhagen in 2007 by a team including 2006 World Barista Champion Klaus Thomsen and World Cup Tasters champion Casper Rasmussen. A standard-bearer of the Nordic light-roast philosophy, the company became renowned for direct trade with full price transparency, publishing the FOB prices it pays and committing to minimums well above commodity levels. Its long-term relationships at farms such as Kieni in Kenya and Finca El Desarrollo set a benchmark for ethical sourcing. The Coffee Collective is one of the most influential roasters in Scandinavia and a global reference for transparency.
Origins they source from
Colombia
Huila
Colombia's most awarded department — sweet, complex washed coffees with caramel, red fruit, and bright acidity.
Ethiopia
Yirgacheffe
The benchmark for floral, tea-like washed Ethiopian coffee — jasmine, bergamot, and citrus over a silky body.
Kenya
Nyeri
The classic Kenyan profile — blackcurrant, tomato, and grapefruit acidity from SL28 on red volcanic soil.
