Manhattan Coffee Roasters
Rotterdam roaster known for adventurous, funky, competition-grade lots.
Manhattan Coffee Roasters was founded in Rotterdam around 2014 by Ben Morrow and Esther Maasdam, and earned a cult following for adventurous, often experimentally processed and intensely fruity coffees aimed at the high end of the specialty market. Frequently supplying competition baristas, Manhattan became associated with the wave of 'funky,' boundary-pushing lots that defined late-2010s specialty coffee. Its small-batch, quality-obsessed model made it a favourite among enthusiasts seeking the unusual.
