Context

The Decaf | Brazilië, sourced and roasted by Bocca Coffee, offers a refined approach to decaffeinated coffee. By utilizing a natuurlijk pulpproces, this selection bridges the gap between the clean profile of washed coffees and the intensity of sun-dried beans. Generally, coffees processed via the natuurlijk pulpproces retain a portion of the fruit mucilage during drying, which often contributes to a balanced body and enhanced sweetness in the final cup.

In this specific lot, the roaster highlights notes of pure chocolate and a distinct fruity sweetness. When evaluating these characteristics, it can be helpful to reference a flavor wheel to better identify the nuances between different types of cocoa and fruit-forward acidity. This Brazilian offering demonstrates that decaffeination does not require a compromise in complexity, providing a satisfying experience for those seeking a rich, dessert-like profile without the presence of caffeine.
