Context

Produced by Granja La Esperanza in the Caicedonia region of Valle, Colombia, the R14 lot represents a meticulous approach to coffee cultivation. This specific offering, roasted by Dayglow, showcases a complex profile that bridges the gap between deep, dried-fruit sweetness and vibrant acidity. While coffees from Colombia · Caicedonia, Valle are often celebrated for their balanced profiles, this selection leans into an expansive spectrum of flavors, ranging from dark stone fruits and raisins to bright citrus and passion fruit.

When evaluating such a multifaceted cup, it is helpful to reference the flavor wheel to categorize the interplay between the honeyed sweetness, amaretto-like depth, and the sharp, rum-forward notes present in the profile. Because processing methods significantly influence the final cup, drinkers may find that the intensity of these fruit-forward characteristics reflects the specific post-harvest techniques employed by the producer. This coffee serves as a compelling example of the diversity found within the region’s contemporary production.
