From the roaster

Dark roast aficionados, we've got you covered.

At Huck, we like complex coffees. And coffee is complex.

But we don’t always need to get into that, and sometimes, it’s nice to just keep things simple.

Enter Flores Belas and Bom Senso, two coffees meant to keep things a little bit simpler, and a little bit more approachable.

For Bom Senso, we select full-bodied, lower-acid coffees, and roast them darker than Huck's usual to create a rich, roasty, and full-bodied coffee.

Bom Senso boasts comforting flavors of sweet smoke, cacao, baking spice, and roasted nuts. Holds up to a healthy dose of cream and/or sugar and is roasted to satisfy those who prefer a darker coffee.

Huckleberry Roasters

Context

Bom Senso Dark Roast from Huckleberry Roasters sources its beans from Flores, Indonesia, where volcanic soils and tropical conditions create coffees with distinctive body and richness. Roasted to a darker degree, this lot emphasizes the deeper flavor compounds that emerge during extended heat application—the roaster identifies sweet smoke, cacao, baking spice, and roasted nuts as its defining characteristics. Dark roasts typically showcase lower acidity and heavier mouthfeel; this profile suggests a coffee well-suited to espresso, French press, or other immersion methods that can capture its fuller texture.
