From the roaster

High in San Miguel, in the Selguapa hills of Comayagua, Reinier Ramírez grows Typica the way his family has for generations. He inherited the farm from his father and has worked it since he was sixteen, tending heirloom trees that have been in the region longer than anyone can easily trace.

For years the work barely paid. Low prices made the farm hard to sustain, however much effort Reinier put in. The turn came in 2017, when he joined a specialty project built around quality: picking only fully ripe cherries, sorting out defects during washing, and drying the parchment slowly over three weeks. The same trees, handled with more care, revealed what they had always been capable of.

The higher return that followed did more than steady the farm. It renewed Reinier's belief in the work, and today he grows with specialty buyers around the world in mind. This is a clean, classic washed Typica, and a portrait of what care can unlock from a single hillside.
