Founded in 2005 in South Melbourne, St. Ali is widely regarded as one of the early pioneers of specialty coffee in Melbourne and Australia. The roaster operates its own roasting facility in Port Melbourne, producing a range of ethically and sustainably sourced blends and seasonal single-origin coffees. St. Ali is entirely employee-owned, with shareholders spanning roles from senior management to delivery drivers, reflecting a strong commitment to independence and team diversity. The company has built direct relationships with coffee farmers globally and supplies cafes and restaurants across Australia, including a presence at Melbourne International Airport. St. Ali has also collaborated with brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Mr Black, Archie Rose, and Koko Black, and operates a sister location in Jakarta, Indonesia. Its offering extends beyond coffee to include food, equipment, pantry goods, and a loyalty subscription program.
