Context
LOMA: Youk's Blend, crafted by Broadsheet Coffee, represents a curated selection of beans sourced from across Central and South America. Blends from these regions are frequently celebrated for their approachable profiles, often balancing the bright acidity characteristic of high-elevation Latin American crops with the deep, comforting sweetness found in lower-altitude harvests.
In the cup, this specific offering is defined by its sweet and chocolatey profile. Such characteristics are common hallmarks of well-developed roasts that emphasize base notes of cocoa and sugar browning. For those looking to better articulate these sensations, consulting a flavor wheel can be a helpful exercise in identifying the specific nuances of sweetness—ranging from caramel and molasses to milk chocolate—that define this blend. By focusing on these foundational flavors, the roaster highlights the classic, reliable qualities that make Central and South American coffees a staple for daily brewing.
