Rob says: Our relationship with the Kii Factory is one we truly treasure, and this marks the sixt lot we’ve sourced from this renowned coffee collective.
Nestled in Kirinyaga, the coffee farms are a blend of smallholders and block holders, ranging from small to medium-sized operations. Many farmers without their own processing facilities rely on local cooperatives, delivering their freshly harvested cherries to nearby wet mills.
What makes Kirinyaga’s coffee truly special is its natural setting. Most farms grow their coffee under the shade of Grevillea and Muringa Alloevella trees, which create ideal conditions for cultivating vibrant, high-quality beans.

Context
This washed Kirinyaga microlot from Kii Factory showcases the region's characteristic clarity through a blend of classic SL 28 & 34 and Batian varietals. Roasted by Caffènation, the coffee balances bright citrus acidity with stone fruit and berry character—a profile where the washed process allows the varietal expression to shine. The interplay of lychee and rum-forward fruit notes suggests the complexity often found in high-elevation East African coffees, inviting exploration across multiple brewing methods to reveal different facets of its flavor profile.
