Caffènation

Caffènation is an Antwerp-based specialty coffee roaster and bar committed to seasonal single-origin beans, artisan micro-roasting, and elevating the coffee experience for both home and professional enthusiasts.

Founded approximately 15 years ago, Caffènation operates as a specialty coffee roaster and café in Antwerp, Belgium, built on three guiding principles: creating a welcoming second home for customers, pursuing the highest standards in beans, equipment, and staff, and actively working to change the coffee landscape. The roastery focuses on 'in season' single-origin beans no older than 10 months post-harvest, roasted to a City+ or Full City profile to achieve sweetness, balance, and complexity. All roasting is done locally in Antwerp on a 25-kilogram roaster in 20-kilogram batches, reflecting a deliberate small-scale, artisan approach. Caffènation defines specialty coffee as clean, exceptional, and scoring 82 or above on a 100-point scale, and ensures each coffee is accompanied by origin information and brewing guidance. The bar serves filter, espresso, espresso-based, and cold brew coffees seven days a week, staffed by 11 trained baristas, and the roastery ships freshly roasted coffee across multiple European countries.
