From the roaster

Context

The Kaffebønner Etiopia Banko Gotiti, sourced from the Gedeo region, represents the meticulous work of the Banko Gotiti producers. Grown at an elevation of 1950–2100 masl, this lot showcases the distinct terroir of one of Ethiopia’s most renowned coffee-producing areas. As a våtforedlet (washed) coffee, it highlights the inherent clarity and brightness often associated with this traditional processing method, which typically emphasizes clean acidity and refined aromatics.

Roasted by Kaffa, this selection invites a deeper exploration of its complex profile. When evaluating the nuances of such high-altitude Ethiopian beans, enthusiasts often find it helpful to reference a flavor wheel to better identify the subtle shifts in acidity and sweetness. By focusing on the intersection of regional origin and careful processing, this coffee offers a transparent look at the character of the Gedeo zone, providing a balanced experience that reflects the dedication of those involved in its cultivation and preparation.
