Once overlooked, Duromina has become one of Ethiopia's finest washing stations. Sustained investment in processing infrastructure transformed Agaro from a region known for low-grade naturals into a source of some of the most coveted coffees in the country. Under the stewardship of the Kata Muduga cooperative, Duromina's immaculate processing yields a cup of rare depth and delicate apricot character.

Parlor Coffee

Context

Ethiopia's Agaro region, part of the broader Sidamo coffee belt, has long produced coffees prized for their balance and complexity. The Kata Muduga cooperative's Duromina lot exemplifies this tradition through careful washed processing, which emphasizes clarity of origin character. Parlor Coffee's roasting brings forward bright acidity alongside stone fruit and dried fruit notes—lime and apricot provide freshness, while raisin adds subtle sweetness and body. This combination of citrus and dried-fruit notes is characteristic of well-executed Ethiopian washed coffees, where the removal of fruit during processing allows the bean's intrinsic flavors to dominate the cup. Explore these flavor dimensions further on the flavor wheel.
