From the roaster

Blended especially for cold brew, this versatile blend also works well as a filter or espresso coffee. We combined a washed Guatemalan coffee, roasted with a light hand, with a deeper roasted pulp natural coffee from Brazil. The result is a very cocoa forward profile, especially as cold brew, a sweet raisin finish.

Context

Speedwell Coffee's Cold Brew is a washed-process coffee that emphasizes classic, straightforward flavor development. Washed coffees, as explained in the processing methods overview, typically highlight the inherent characteristics of the bean through careful fermentation and drying. This lot expresses cocoa and raisin notes—earthy, comforting flavors that suggest gentle roasting and careful handling. The combination points toward a balanced cup with subtle sweetness and body. For tasting reference, both notes align with the sensory categories found in traditional coffee profiles.
