Bar Nine was founded in 2013 and opened to the public in April 2014, operating as both a roaster and café with roots in Culver City and a current café location in El Segundo, California. In addition to its café operations, Bar Nine developed a product line called Pure Espresso, created by its in-house roaster and refined through consumer taste testing. The company holds a patent on the process behind Pure Espresso, which it describes as a breakthrough in coffee technology aimed at delivering consistent, high-quality espresso for both professionals and home enthusiasts. The café is open Monday through Friday and serves as a community gathering point alongside the roasting and product development side of the business.
