Bows & Arrows Coffee

Context

This espresso from Bows & Arrows Coffee showcases Borbón varietal beans grown by producer Merci Fernandez in Peru's Colasay region of Jaén at 1900 meters elevation. The roaster identifies green grapes, macadamia, and butter cream as the coffee's defining characteristics—a bright, nutty profile with creamy sweetness that suggests careful attention to bean development and roasting technique.

Borbón, an heirloom varietal, often expresses subtle complexity in espresso form. This lot's flavor progression from fresh fruit to nutty richness reflects both the terroir of its highland Peruvian origin and the roaster's extraction choices. Reference the flavor wheel to calibrate these tasting descriptors against your own palate.
