From the roaster
“Old Florida” is less of a geographic location than a particular state of mind. For locals, the moniker harkens to a less complicated time, before the hustle-bustle of tourists and theme parks and high rise-hotels. It arouses the senses and brings up memories of Spanish moss and citrus groves; vintage cars and hand-rolled cigars; salty beaches and searching for sand dollars until sunset. Our Old Florida Blend is citrusy, laid back and approachable — perfect for lazy mornings when only a simple, uncomplicated cup of coffee will do.

Context
The Old Florida Roast, crafted by Buddy Brew Coffee, offers a focused profile defined by bright citrus notes. When evaluating coffees with such specific acidity, it is helpful to consider how these characteristics sit within the broader spectrum of flavor profiles. Citrus-forward coffees often highlight the vibrant, zesty qualities inherent in high-quality beans, providing a clean and refreshing experience for the palate.
To better understand how these citrus elements relate to other sensory experiences, many enthusiasts consult a flavor wheel. While general categories can help categorize these bright, acidic sensations, the specific expression of any roast depends on the unique interplay between the bean's origin and the roaster's approach. By exploring these nuances, drinkers can develop a more sophisticated vocabulary for the diverse range of profiles found in specialty coffee, moving beyond simple descriptors to appreciate the complexity present in every cup.
