Context

Sourced from the high-elevation landscapes of Santa María de Dota, Tarrazú, this offering from Intelligentsia Coffee highlights the collaborative efforts of the Coopedota cooperative. Costa Rican coffees from this specific region are frequently celebrated for their bright acidity and clean, balanced profiles, which often serve as a benchmark for Central American specialty production. Because the Tarrazú region benefits from unique microclimates and volcanic soil, the resulting cups often display a sophisticated complexity that rewards careful brewing.

When evaluating the nuances of this particular lot, tasters may find it helpful to reference the flavor wheel to identify specific aromatic markers. While processing methods can significantly influence the final cup—with washed coffees often emphasizing clarity and natural-processed coffees tending to show heavier fruit—the consistency maintained by Coopedota ensures a reliable expression of the region’s terroir. This selection represents a focused look at the cooperative’s commitment to quality and regional tradition.
