The name connects with our desire to approach coffee and live life fully present, always sentient, with attentive eyes, seeking wonder, seeking vitality in the engagement with our partners that set the ground for ongoing mutually beneficial #rootedreverberations .
The name is a reference to this line in the beginning of Michael Ondaatje’s book The English Patient. “I have spent weeks in the desert, forgetting to look at the moon, he says, as a married man may spend days never looking into the face of his wife. These are not sins of omission but signs of preoccupation.”

Context
"Don't Forget to Look at the Moon," offered by Little Waves Coffee Roasters, presents a profile defined by milk chocolate, apricot, and caramel. When evaluating such profiles, it is helpful to consider how these specific descriptors align with broader sensory categories. Milk chocolate and caramel often fall within the sweet, sugar-browning categories of the flavor wheel, while apricot introduces a distinct stone fruit acidity.
In the broader landscape of specialty coffee, roasters often select lots that balance these comforting, dessert-like qualities with subtle fruit notes to create a versatile cup. While natural-processed coffees tend to show heavier fruit and washed coffees often highlight cleaner, more delicate acidity, the final experience of any single-origin coffee is shaped by the unique intersection of its origin and the roaster’s specific approach to development. This selection invites drinkers to explore the interplay between rich, sugary base notes and bright, nuanced fruit characteristics.
