Although technically a certifiable single origin, our organic Sumatra Gayo River is available year-round.  This coffee features the comforts of a darker roast profile while showcasing its nuanced terroir.

This organic lot from the Gayo River highlands showcases the distinctive profile typical of wet-hulled coffees, a traditional Indonesian method that imparts earthy body and syrupy sweetness. Grown at 1,350–1,600 meters in one of Sumatra's premier coffee regions, the beans develop Caffe Vita's described notes of roasted almond, brown sugar, and nougat—a warm, nutty character grounded in the region's volcanic soils and humid tropical climate. Wet-hulled processing tends to produce heavier, more textured cups; this origin's elevation adds balance and complexity to the cup. An accessible entry point to Indonesian coffees and their characteristic body-forward sweetness.
