From the roaster

This single-producer coffee comes from the farm of Jorge Criollo, located at 1,920 meters above sea level in the La Florida municipality of Nariño, Colombia. While cupping in Colombia this August, this coffee really stood out, scoring a point higher, on average, than other coffees on the table. The flavor notes we took at origin included: nice body, guava, blackberry, black tea, luscious and vanilla ice cream. Upon arrival to the roastery in November, we are happy to say that it's still knocking our socks off! Tropical fruits and berries explode from the cup, with a lush, honeyed body. This isn't one to be missed, delicious as both drip and espresso.

We roast and ship on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All orders placed before 10AM ship that day.

Context

Sourced from the high-altitude landscapes of Colombia · Nariño, the Colombia El Diviso represents the meticulous work of producer Jorge Criollo. This lot, brought to market by Case Coffee Roasters, showcases a distinct profile that balances a luscious, creamy mouthfeel with vibrant fruit and botanical undertones. When evaluating such complex profiles, enthusiasts often reference the flavor wheel to better articulate the interplay between the deep sweetness of vanilla ice cream and the bright, tea-like acidity found in the cup.

Coffees from this specific region are frequently celebrated for their ability to maintain clarity while offering a substantial body. By highlighting notes of guava and blackberry, this selection invites a nuanced exploration of how specific processing and terroir influence the final sensory experience. It serves as a compelling example of the quality currently emerging from Nariño, providing a sophisticated drinking experience that bridges the gap between indulgent sweetness and refined, tea-like elegance.
