Context

Guatemala has long been recognized for producing some of the most balanced and complex coffees in Central America, often characterized by a bright acidity and a clean, sweet finish. The Guatemala La Esperanza, produced by Aurelio Villaure, exemplifies the high standards of cultivation found within the Guatemala region. When evaluating a coffee of this profile, tasters often look for the interplay between sweetness and acidity, which can be mapped using a flavor wheel to better identify specific nuances.

In this particular lot, the roaster highlights a distinct combination of stone fruit and grape, balanced by the rich, nutty undertones of praline. While general coffee profiles from this origin are frequently celebrated for their structural integrity, this specific selection offers a unique sensory experience that highlights the meticulous work of the producer. It serves as an excellent example of how careful processing and roasting can elevate the inherent characteristics of the harvest.
