Context

The Kenya Karinga, sourced from the Gitwe Farmers’ Co-operative Society Ltd, represents the vibrant profile often associated with Kenya. Coffees from this region are frequently celebrated for their bright, high-toned acidity and complex citrus characteristics, which are hallmarks of the local processing methods and unique terroir. When evaluating such profiles, enthusiasts often consult the flavor wheel to better identify the nuanced interplay between acidity and sweetness.

This specific lot, roasted by Case Coffee Roasters, highlights a distinct citrus-forward experience. The roaster identifies notes of mandarin orange and grapefruit balanced by a sugar-like sweetness. While Kenyan coffees are widely recognized for their intense, sparkling acidity, the specific expression of these fruit notes can vary significantly depending on the harvest and processing techniques employed by the cooperative. This selection offers a focused look at the classic, bright character that defines the region’s output.
