Bourbon · Natural

From the high-elevation hills of Nyamasheke, this washed Bourbon comes from Kanzu Washing Station, a beautifully run site overlooking Lake Kivu. At 1800–2100 meters above sea level, slow cherry maturation and careful processing bring clarity and balance to the cup. This natural-processed Bourbon offers a more expressive and fruit-driven take on Nyamasheke.

Dried slowly on raised beds with the fruit intact, this lot develops deeper sweetness and aromatic intensity while maintaining balance and clarity.

In the cup, it opens with blueberry jam and dried fruit, layered with soft florals and a lingering sweetness that carries through the finish. The body is fuller, the aromatics more pronounced, and the overall profile more dynamic.

This is Nyamasheke in full color, vibrant, juicy, and alive.

Chromatic Coffee

Context

Natural-processed coffees tend to show heavier fruit expression and body than washed lots, and this Nyamasheke Dry exemplifies that character. From the Kanzu Washing Station in Rwanda's Nyamasheke region, this Bourbon displays blueberry jam and dried fruit notes with soft florals—a profile typical of natural processing, where fruit contact deepens sweetness and complexity. Grown at 1800–2100 masl, the coffee balances jammy intensity with a lingering sweetness that invites lingering in the cup. Chromatic Coffee's roast brings these layered notes into focus for those seeking the fuller, more fruit-forward end of specialty coffee's sensory spectrum.
