Burundi - Gahahe

Our second and final Burundian coffee of the season comes from Gahahe, a fantastic washing station in the red clay hills of Kayanza Province serving over 1,700 nearby farmers.

This fully washed lot is an excellent rendering of flavors we've come to love in East Africa. Look for a warm and complex cup with immaculate clarity and layered sweetness - we taste cranberry, golden raisin, dried fig, honey, brown sugar, orange peel, and lovely, subtle florals.

This washed coffee from Burundi's Kayanza Province presents a balanced profile typical of the region's processing traditions. Washed coffees from this area often emphasize clarity and structured sweetness, as evidenced here through notes of honey, brown sugar, and dried stone fruits.
