Context

Sourced from the Cajamarca region of Peru, the Peru - Los Tulipanes lot represents the distinct character of high-elevation Andean coffee production. This specific offering from Partners Coffee utilizes the honey process, a technique that leaves a portion of the coffee cherry’s mucilage intact during drying. Generally, processing methods like this can influence the final cup by bridging the gap between the clarity of washed coffees and the intense sweetness often found in natural-processed beans.

When evaluating the profile of this coffee, which features notes of dark chocolate, bing cherry, tangerine, strawberry, lychee, and rose, it is helpful to reference the flavor wheel to better categorize these complex fruit and floral descriptors. By balancing the deep, cocoa-toned base typical of the region with vibrant, aromatic top notes, this selection highlights the diverse potential of Peruvian harvests when handled with precise post-harvest care.
