Cuvée Coffee was founded in 1998 in Austin, Texas, beginning as an experiment in craft that has continued to evolve over the decades. The roaster built its own direct trade network early on to secure higher-quality and more consistent access to its preferred coffees. All roasts are custom-dialed in the company's Austin lab to bring out the distinct characteristics of each individual bean. Beyond roasting, Cuvée is credited with pioneering Nitro Cold Brew in a widget-activated Nitro can, and has since expanded to operate what it describes as a dedicated cold brewery. The company also runs a coffee bar and offers wholesale services. Led by founder Mike McKim, Cuvée frames its identity around ongoing curiosity and experimentation, positioning each new development as the next chapter in a long-running creative process. The roaster ships across the United States and offers coffee subscriptions alongside retail and brewing gear.
