Water Avenue Coffee
Water Avenue Coffee is a Portland, Oregon specialty coffee roaster founded in 2009 on the banks of the Willamette River, known for small-batch roasting, deep community ties, and industry expertise.

Water Avenue Coffee Roasters was founded in late 2009 by Bruce and Matt Milletto in Portland's Southeast Industrial District, situated along the Willamette River. The company roasts coffee on a vintage 1974 French-built Samiac roaster acquired from Switzerland. Both founders bring extensive backgrounds in specialty coffee: Bruce Milletto, recognized as a Specialty Coffee Association of America 'Coffee Luminary,' founded Bellissimo Coffee Advisors in 1991, while Matt Milletto co-owns and serves as vice president of the American Barista and Coffee School, established in 2003. The roastery shares its building with that school, reflecting a commitment to education and industry development. Water Avenue emphasizes local community support, hand-delivering 90% or more of its roasted coffee to partners within a 50-mile radius. The roaster received a 'Best Bean in Portland' award for 2010, and Seattle Weekly named its El Salvador Pacamara Best Espresso of 2011. The company values environmental, social, and economic stewardship alongside employee development.
