Context

Produced at the Cyiya Station in Rwanda’s Western Province, this lot showcases the classic profile of the Red Bourbon varietal grown between 1650 and 1900 masl. As a washed coffee, the processing method emphasizes the inherent clarity and acidity of the bean, a hallmark of high-quality Rwandan production. You can learn more about how these processing methods influence the final cup profile in our technical guide.

Sourced by Coffea Roasterie, this selection highlights the vibrant, fruit-forward characteristics often associated with the region. The tasting notes of apricot and pink lemonade suggest a bright, effervescent quality that pairs well with the flavor wheel standards for citrus and stone fruit descriptors. While washed coffees are typically celebrated for their clean, tea-like elegance, the specific terroir of the Western Province provides a distinct, sparkly complexity that distinguishes this Cyiya offering from other regional counterparts.
