Context

This coffee originates from a collective effort in Guadalupe Miramar, Oaxaca, where 15–20 small farms work together to produce this lot. George Howell Coffee has roasted a traditional-variety Mexican coffee that expresses a balanced sweetness alongside bright citrus character. The roaster identifies milk chocolate as the foundation, complemented by tangerine and lime notes—a profile that reflects both the inherent qualities of the region and the roaster's technique. Mexico's diverse microclimates and elevations have long supported coffee production with varied flavor expressions, and this Guadalupe Miramar example showcases the potential for nuanced, fruit-forward character alongside deeper cocoa tones. Those seeking to map these flavors more precisely may find the flavor wheel a useful reference for identifying specific sensory dimensions.
