For Graciano Cruz's Los Lajones Bambu Geisha Washed, we've put together a limited edition collectors bundle featuring the coffee, a special release tee, a custom collector's box and a limited edition over-sized coffee card.

Made in very small numbers, it's our way of celebrating one of the year's most exciting coffees and giving you something to remember it by.

Graciano Cruz is something of an enigma. A scientist, coffee producer, party animal, visionary, and ecologist. It is difficult to define him precisely. He is a wild operator, working across multiple disciplines with a clear sense of curiosity and intent. In addition to his two farms in Panama, Graciano also operates in El Salvador and has contributed to projects in other coffee-producing regions such as Ethiopia, Peru, Taiwan, and Brazil. Amongst this breadth of work, he continues to produce coffees at a high level, most recently placing 6th in the Best of Panama competition. 

The highest sections of Los Lajones sit at around 2,100 metres above sea level. It is in these upper elevations that Graciano’s Geisha grows within native cloud forest. This lot comes from a section known as Bambu. 

Prior to the 2024 harvest, Graciano had exclusively processed his coffees using honey or natural methods. Seeking a new direction, he began trialling washed processing. This lot reflects that shift, presenting a structured profile with florals and citrus, alongside the more developed tropical characteristics often associated with his work.

This Special Release bundle from Proud Mary Coffee highlights the meticulous work of producer Graciano Cruz in the Los Lajones region of Panama. Grown at 2100 masl, this lot features the Geisha varietal, which is globally prized for its distinct floral, tea-like clarity and complex aromatic profile. While washed processing is often utilized to emphasize a coffee's inherent acidity and clean finish, the specific terroir of Los Lajones contributes to the vibrant citrus and tropical characteristics noted by the roaster. When evaluating such high-elevation lots, enthusiasts often consult a flavor wheel to better identify the nuanced interplay between delicate floral notes and bright fruit acidity. This collection serves as a focused study on how expert cultivation and precise processing techniques can elevate the profile of a single varietal, offering a refined experience for those exploring the unique characteristics of Panamanian coffee.
