From the roaster

SOLO is a seasonal single-origin washed coffee offering a molasses sweetness, gentle berry acidity and a syrupy body that carries through to a great finish.

In the highlands of western Guatemala, smallholder producers in Huehuetenango farm steep, fertile slopes where coffee sustains much of the local economy. Working collectively through the Regional Select programme, they’ve built a system that rewards quality while keeping value close to origin. This lot was crafted to capture the essence of Huehuetenango's flavour.

Colonna Coffee

Context

SOLO is a washed-process coffee from Huehuetenango, Guatemala, roasted by Colonna Coffee. The cup emphasizes molasses-forward sweetness balanced by a gentle berry acidity, supported by a syrupy body that carries the flavor profile through to finish. Washed coffees from this highland Guatemalan region tend toward clarity and brightness, though this lot's emphasis on sweetness and body suggests a deliberately full-bodied expression of the origin's character. The combination of fruit acidity with syrup-like mouthfeel offers approachable complexity—neither aggressively bright nor heavily earthy—making it a versatile choice across brewing methods.
