We are thrilled to introduce another fantastic offering to Gracenote Coffee’s Colombian Origin Project via our friends at Azahar Coffee. Summer is really here :)

This refined single-origin coffee comes from Finca Palo Seco, a single-family plot in Yacuanquer, Nariño, nestled within the beautifully mountainous landscapes of southern Colombia. The cup presents layered notes of clementine, sesame candy, chocolate nibs, and white grape, carried by a bright acidity reminiscent of Burgundy-style white wine. Floral aromatics and a rounded, structured finish bring balance and elegance to an expressive coffee that stands apart within the region. Gosh do we love these coffees.

Enjoy!

Gracenote Coffee

Context

Jorge Armando Salazar's micro-lot from Yacuanquer in Nariño showcases what washed processing can achieve with Caturra at elevation. This Colombian coffee balances citrus brightness—key lime and clementine—with stone fruit richness and subtle cocoa undertones, suggesting the careful cultivation practiced in this southwestern region. The presence of white peach and sesame candy hints at the complexity that emerges when quality farming meets thoughtful roasting by Gracenote Coffee, while chocolate nibs and white grape add textural depth to an otherwise fruit-forward profile. This represents the kind of focused, single-producer expression increasingly sought from Colombia's high-altitude regions.
