Introducing Kamwangi, the next AB of the 2026 season! Juicy, clean, and refreshing.

This AB fully washed top lot is from Kamwangi washing station, one of 3 factories managed by New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) in Kirinyaga county, situated in Kenya's central highlands. The Co-op works with around 1,500 local farmers who cultivate the varieties of Ruiru 11, SL28 and Batian at altitudes up to 1,800masl. Kamwangi has been consistently producing some of our favourite Kenyan coffees for a few seasons now, a testament to the diligence of their farmers and the factory staff.

Context

Sourced from the Kirinyaga region of Kenya, the Kenya AB - Kamwangi is a testament to the meticulous standards maintained by the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society. This lot is prepared using the washed process, a method typically employed to highlight the inherent acidity and clean, vibrant profiles often associated with high-elevation East African coffees. Roasted by Gracenote Coffee, this selection presents a complex cup profile featuring notes of papaya, black currant, and baklava.

When evaluating such distinct flavor profiles, it is helpful to reference a flavor wheel to better identify the nuances between fruit-forward acidity and the deeper, pastry-like sweetness found in this coffee. Grown between 1600 and 1800 masl, the Kamwangi lot reflects the specific terroir of its origin, offering a balanced experience that showcases the precision of Kenyan processing techniques.
