From the roaster

Limited stock of this crowd pleaser - I know, I know. Sorry. We sort of keep coffees around for wholesale that have a bit more mass appeal but are still super solid and sometimes they appear here. This is one of those. I got the typical "this is a nice Colombian coffee" routine, brown sugars, caramels, chocolates, honey stuff like that. It wont win any competitions but sometimes you gotta keep the other one happy.

Context

Sourced from the high-elevation landscapes of Colombia · Narino La Union, this selection from Royal Mile Coffee highlights the classic, comforting profile often associated with the region. While Colombian coffees are frequently celebrated for their bright acidity, this specific lot leans into a rich, dessert-like sweetness. The roaster identifies prominent notes of brown sugars, caramels, chocolates, and honey, creating a balanced cup that emphasizes depth and body.

When exploring such flavor profiles, it is helpful to reference the flavor wheel to better categorize these sweet, sugar-browning characteristics. Coffees from this region often benefit from careful roasting to preserve these delicate honey and caramel undertones without masking the inherent sweetness of the bean. This offering serves as a quintessential example of how traditional processing methods can yield a clean, approachable, and deeply satisfying experience for those who prefer a more indulgent cup.
