From the roaster

A very berry driven process coffee. What does that mean? Blueberries lead the way with a bakers chocolate backend along with some fermenty/funky ness. For those missing the Vice Blue coffee, this would be one that filled in that coffee. Killer espresso option.

Context

The Ethiopia Guji Dambi Uddo represents a distinct expression from the Guji region, a zone celebrated for its diverse microclimates and complex heirloom varieties. Roasted by Royal Mile Coffee, this lot is characterized by a profile featuring blueberries and bakers chocolate, underscored by fermenty and funky qualities. In the broader context of specialty coffee, such flavor profiles often emerge from specific processing techniques that emphasize intensity and depth. When evaluating these nuanced characteristics, referencing a flavor wheel can be a helpful tool for identifying the specific aromatic compounds that define such a bold cup. While natural-processed coffees from this region frequently lean toward heavy fruit and wine-like acidity, the specific interplay of chocolate and funk found here highlights the unique character of the Dambi Uddo harvest.
