Context

The 2026 David Berrio, sourced from the Urrao region of Colombia, represents a distinct offering from producer David Berrio. This "End Of Season" lot features the Chiroso varietal, a coffee known for its unique profile that often bridges the gap between traditional regional characteristics and more exotic, high-toned expressions. Roasted by Sey Coffee, the cup is defined by notes of ripe stone fruit, yellow florals, and star fruit.

When evaluating such specific profiles, it is helpful to reference the flavor wheel to better categorize the interplay between the bright acidity of star fruit and the delicate, aromatic qualities of yellow florals. While Chiroso is frequently celebrated for its complexity, the specific harvest conditions of an end-of-season lot can often concentrate these sugars, resulting in a more intense sweetness. This selection highlights the meticulous work of producers in Urrao who continue to push the boundaries of what Colombian coffee can achieve.
