Java Estate Pancoer
Roasted by Speeder & Earl's
Indonesian single-origin from historic Pancoer Estate with full body and low acidity.

From the roaster
Java Estate Pancoer is sourced from one of the government run coffee estates established by the Dutch in the 18th century. The Pancoer Estate has 1500 acres of coffee cultivated in the village of Sumber Canting in the Botolinggo District within the East Java Province on the island of Java, Indonesia. The Pancoer Estate has its own wet-mill operation where cherry is quickly depulped, fermented, washed and then dried. Unlike most Indonesian processing (wet-hulling), the Pancoer fully washed coffees have a cleaner, more balanced profile.

Context
This washed coffee from Pancoer Estate in East Java Province represents Indonesia's diverse coffee-growing regions. Roasted by Speeder & Earl's, the lot undergoes a washed process, which typically emphasizes clarity and brightness compared to natural or semi-washed methods common to some Indonesian origins. East Java's terroir and elevation contribute distinct characteristics to coffees from this region, though individual estate expressions vary considerably based on microclimatic factors and processing precision.
This coffee offers an opportunity to explore how Indonesia's varied regions—beyond the well-known Sumatran profiles—express themselves through the washed method. Use the flavor wheel to identify specific tasting notes and refine your sensory vocabulary as you cup this particular lot.
