Context
The Kiangoi AA, sourced by The Barn, represents the distinct profile of the Kenya · Kirinyaga region. Coffees from this area are frequently celebrated for their vibrant acidity and complex, layered profiles, which often challenge the boundaries of the flavor wheel. While Kenyan coffees are traditionally processed using the washed method to highlight their signature brightness and clean finish, the specific character of a lot like Kiangoi AA is deeply influenced by the unique mineral composition of the volcanic soils found throughout Kirinyaga.
When evaluating such coffees, enthusiasts often look for the interplay between intense fruit-forward notes and a structured, syrupy mouthfeel. Because the AA grade specifically denotes the largest screen size of the beans, this selection offers a consistent roast profile that allows the inherent qualities of the Kirinyaga terroir to shine through clearly in the cup.
