Andytown Coffee Roasters was founded in 2014 by baristas Michael McCrory and Lauren Crabbe with the goal of bringing specialty coffee roasting to the Outer Sunset district of San Francisco. Starting in a 600-square-foot space on Lawton Street, the company has grown to operate multiple locations on the west side of San Francisco, as well as cafes in downtown San Francisco, Menlo Park, and beyond. Andytown describes its atmosphere as reminiscent of an Irish grandmother's kitchen—clean, cozy, welcoming, and warm—with a focus on building inclusive community spaces. The roaster practices small-batch roasting and emphasizes meticulous sourcing and consistency. Andytown is certified as a women-owned business by the WBENC, a California Green Business, and a Surfrider Ocean-Friendly Restaurant. The company uses compostable packaging, prioritizes energy efficiency, and engages in ethical sourcing. Local hiring, neighborhood events, and community partnerships are also central to its stated mission.
