From the roaster

Our cold brew blend is rich and hefty, but don’t be fooled: it can still pack a hint of brightness to pique your palate! This blend is a combination of fresh roasted Brazilian beans and an amalgamation of all our coffees–single origins and blends alike–that’s been aged specifically for overnight steeping. When cold brewed at a 1:5 coffee to water ratio, you’re left with a potent concentrate that’s reminiscent of black cherry, syrup, and dark chocolate. As is, we love pouring a few ounces of concentrate over ice in a rocks glass. For a more easy going beverage, cut the concentrate to your liking with water or your choice of milk.

Context

The Cold Brew Blend by Andytown Coffee is specifically crafted to excel when prepared through long-duration immersion brewing. While cold brewing is often utilized to highlight the inherent sweetness and lower acidity of a bean, this particular selection emphasizes a profile defined by black cherry, syrup, and dark chocolate. These characteristics are common descriptors found within the "sweet" and "dark fruit" segments of the flavor wheel, which serves as a standard reference for identifying nuanced sensory experiences in specialty coffee.

Because cold brew extraction relies on time rather than heat to dissolve soluble compounds, blends designed for this method often prioritize a heavy, syrupy mouthfeel and a balanced, chocolate-forward foundation. By focusing on these specific flavor markers, this blend aims to provide a consistent and rich cup that maintains its structural integrity even when served over ice or diluted.
