Caravan began in early 2010 when three friends — Laura, Miles, and Chris — who met working in restaurants in New Zealand opened their first location on Exmouth Market in London. Their vision was to create a space that merged café and restaurant culture, centered on freshly roasted coffee and globally influenced food. The brand has since grown across London and beyond, while maintaining the laid-back, inclusive spirit of the original. Caravan operates both its restaurants and its own coffee roastery, roasting coffee locally to supply its venues and wholesale customers. The company holds B Corp certification, reflecting a stated commitment to responsible roasting and thoughtful sourcing. Caravan also runs a Female Producer Programme, a Coffee School, and offers roastery tours and SCA training, underscoring its engagement with sustainability and coffee education. The brand positions itself as open and accessible, aiming to make specialty coffee and quality dining welcoming to all.
