Coffee Details

We are proud to once again partner with Arturo Paz, a third-generation coffee producer in the Santa Barbara growing region of Honduras. Arturo's grandfather was actually one of the first producers to start growing coffee in the area. Arturo has had a great impact on promoting specialty coffee in the area in recent years, and is the chief agronomist of Beneficio San Vicente, the mill that processes and exports specialty coffee from the region. He provides feedback and support to producers across Santa Barbara, elevating the quality region-wide. Thanks to the Paz family and Beneficio San Vicente, the amazing, high-quality coffees from this region are receiving the fame they deserve.

Context

The Honduras Arturo Paz, sourced by Case Coffee Roasters, represents the distinct profile of the Santa Barbara region. Coffees from this area of Honduras are frequently recognized for their complex acidity and balanced sweetness. Producer Arturo Paz brings this specific lot to market, showcasing a flavor profile defined by bright tangerine and strawberry notes grounded by a smooth milk chocolate finish.

When evaluating such profiles, it is helpful to reference the flavor wheel to better categorize the interplay between citrus-forward acidity and deeper, cocoa-toned base notes. While every harvest varies, coffees from Santa Barbara often benefit from the unique microclimates found within the region’s mountainous terrain.
