From the roaster

Context
Produced by Oscar and Francisca Chacón and their family, this Costa Rican selection from the Sabanilla de Alajuela region showcases the meticulous work of Lehmus Roastery. The coffee is a blend of Caturra and Catuai varietals, grown at elevations between 1500 and 1700 meters above sea level. As a natural-processed coffee, it reflects the distinct character of the Sabanilla de Alajuela terroir, which often contributes to a complex profile.
Natural-processed coffees are frequently celebrated for their heavier body and pronounced fruit-forward characteristics, often bridging the gap between bright acidity and deep sweetness. When exploring the nuances of this lot, such as its notes of blackberry, pineapple, and milk chocolate, one might find it helpful to reference a flavor wheel to better identify the interplay between its citrusy orange highlights and underlying honeyed finish. This offering provides a clear look at how traditional processing methods can elevate the inherent qualities of these classic varietals.
