Ana Mildred Muñoz Hernández founded Grupo Santa María in 2017, and has spent recent years empowering women in the production of specialty organic coffee. Raised on a small coffee farm, she developed a love for coffee from a young age, helping with harvesting and drying. Today, she is the head (along with her husband Oscar Daza Bautista) of Hacienda Cafetera Santa María, a collective venture by a group of women dedicated to producing organic shade-grown coffee across 11 farms in Aratoca and Curití.
“I am deeply proud of the social development and impact we have achieved in the region, particularly in supporting single mothers and heads of households,” says Muñoz. “Our commitment to these women has been crucial in strengthening the community and providing opportunities to improve their quality of life.”

Context
Produced by Ana Mildred Muñoz Hernández in the Aratoca and Curití regions of Colombia, this Pink Bourbon lot represents a distinct expression of a varietal often celebrated for its complex, vibrant profile. The Pink Bourbon plant is a rare hybrid that requires meticulous care during cultivation and harvest, often yielding a cup profile that balances sweetness with nuanced acidity. When exploring the flavor wheel, drinkers may find that coffees from this specific geographical origin frequently showcase a bright, fruit-forward character.
This particular offering from Linea Caffe highlights a diverse spectrum of tropical and stone fruit notes, including strawberry, papaya, mango, and casaba, rounded out by a honey-like sweetness. While general expectations for the varietal often lean toward high-toned clarity, the specific processing and terroir of the Aratoca and Curití regions contribute to the unique sensory experience found in this cup. It serves as an excellent example of the quality emerging from small-scale producers in Colombia.
