Context

Sourced from the West Arsi region of Ethiopia, the Gora Kone lot represents a classic expression of the country’s high-quality output. This selection is prepared using the washed process, a method typically employed to highlight the inherent clarity and vibrant acidity of the bean. By removing the fruit flesh before drying, producers allow the underlying characteristics of the terroir to take center stage, often resulting in a clean, refined cup profile.

As noted by Partners Coffee, this specific offering presents a complex array of fruit-forward attributes, ranging from jammy raspberry and blueberry to stone fruits like peach and plum. The profile is further rounded out by bright, candied citrus notes, including tangerine, lime, and orange. For those looking to better understand these descriptors, consulting a flavor wheel can be a helpful tool in identifying and categorizing the nuanced sensations found within this lively Ethiopian coffee.
