Context

Sourced from the Gichugu division of Kirinyaga, the Kii lot represents the meticulous processing standards of the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society. This region is renowned for its high-elevation cultivation, with this specific harvest gathered between 1600 and 1900 meters above sea level. Kenyan coffees are frequently celebrated for their vibrant acidity and complex, layered profiles, which often challenge the boundaries of the standard flavor wheel.

This particular offering is brought to market by Cartwheel Coffee, a roaster dedicated to highlighting the distinct terroir of the Kirinyaga district. While Kenyan coffees are traditionally processed using the washed method to emphasize clarity and brightness, the unique microclimates of the Gichugu region consistently produce beans with a dense, structural integrity. By focusing on the specific output of the Kii factory, this selection provides a focused look at the high-quality production typical of the cooperative’s rigorous sorting and drying practices.
