Sweet and well rounded cup with notes of Monk Fruit and Tomatillo
The Kii factory, operated by Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society, serves 1,215 farmer members in a region with a 70-year coffee heritage. The cooperative manages three mills and partners with Sustainable Management Services to improve quality and yield. Cherries are processed the same-day—depulped, sorted, fermented overnight, washed in fresh river water, and sun-dried.
This washed Kenya coffee delivers a bright, complex sweetness with tart tomatillo notes upfront and a lingering monk fruit sweetness that develops through the cup. This coffee stood out as a classic coffee from Kenya and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

This washed Kenya from Dogwood Coffee sources directly from the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society in Gichugu Division, Kirinyaga. Grown at 1600–1800 masl, the lot features the Batian varietal, a hybrid bred for disease resistance and cup complexity. The washed process emphasizes clarity and brightness characteristic of Kenyan coffees, allowing the fruit-forward character to emerge distinctly. Roaster notes of monk fruit and tomatillo suggest a juicy, stone-fruit quality with subtle green-tomato tartness—flavors often associated with East African origins and high-altitude cultivation.
