The ASOCEAS (Asociacion de Productores de Café Especial del Alto Saldana) has named this coffee El Meridiano after a nearby remote mountain lake, visible only from a plane. ASOCEAS is comprised of 58 producers that are located in a very secluded part of Tolima, Colombia. We have purchased this coffee since 2011 and it is always a favorite!

Context
This washed Caturra originates from the high-elevation slopes of Corregimiento Herrera in Tolima's Rioblanco municipality, where ASOCEAS coordinates production across the region's coffee-growing zones. Roasted by Dogwood Coffee, the lot expresses plum sweetness balanced with panela sugar—a combination that reflects both the varietal's inherent character and the washed processing method's clarity. The 1500–1900 masl elevation range supports the development of these nuanced fruit-forward and caramel-tinged notes. This represents a solid example of contemporary Colombian specialty production from an organized producer collective.
