A collection of the harvests of about 1000 small farmers surrounding the mill, this year's crop is as vibrant and layered as it gets from this region. Both vibrantly fruited and miles of sweetness, the Chorongi boasts notes of cara cara orange, red currant and aromatics of white tea

This washed lot from Kuma Coffee sources SL28 & SL34 Peaberry beans from the Chorongi factory in Kenya's Nyeri region. The washed processing method emphasizes clarity and brightness in the cup, which aligns with the roaster's tasting profile: Cara Cara orange brings citrus-forward character, while red currant and white tea suggest delicate berry complexity and floral undertones. Grown at 1500–1600 meters altitude, these peaberries—the distinctive single seeds that develop in some coffee cherries—typically concentrate flavors and can intensify the tea-like qualities Kuma identifies here. This lot offers the clean, fruit-forward profile characteristic of washed African coffees.
