From the roaster

Lehmus Roasteryn Limited-sarjan kahvit esittelevät pieniä ja erityisen kiinnostavia kahvieriä eri puolilta maailmaa.

Limited Mount Kerinci Indonesia tulee nimensä mukaisesti Indonesiasta. Kahvi saapuu 320 pienviljelijän muodostaman yhteisön, Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperativen, tuottamana. Yhteisön viljelijät asuvat Mount Kerinci-vuoren juurella Sumatran saarella. Kahvi pitää kasvina tuliperäisestä maasta, ja Mount Kerinci onkin osa Tyynen valtameren Ring of Fire -tulivuorten ketjua.

Context

The Limited Mount Kerinci Indonesia, sourced from the Koerintji Barokah Bersama cooperative, represents a distinct offering from the Sumatra region. Cultivated at elevations between 1400 and 1700 meters, this lot is prepared using the natural process, a method often associated with increased body and pronounced fruit-forward characteristics. Roasted by Lehmus Roastery, the coffee presents a complex profile featuring tropical fruits, peach, and watermelon, balanced by subtle notes of spice and a light rum-like quality.

When evaluating such diverse flavor profiles, it is helpful to consult a flavor wheel to better identify the nuances between the fruit-driven acidity and the deeper, spice-laden undertones. Because natural-processed coffees often retain more of the coffee cherry’s influence during drying, they frequently exhibit a heavier mouthfeel and sweetness compared to washed counterparts. This specific selection highlights the evolving landscape of Indonesian coffee production, moving beyond traditional profiles to showcase a broader spectrum of sensory experiences.
